Fantasy armour

So my friend and fellow fire performer has just received her fantasy chest piece for performing in. She seems pretty happy about it.

It was interesting making an asymmetrical chest piece. It meant I had to think a fair bit about the body in cross sections in order to get the fit right, particularly as she wanted the armour to be fairly tight fitting. I’m really not used to making armour with breasts on.

There’s also a spaulder that goes with the armour, that isn’t shown here. It’s a bit of a mix culturally, as it has raised korus on it (a Maori design motif). I’m looking forward to seeing photos of the pieces together when she’s doing some fire performance.
