Weka Armouries specialises in making bespoke historically accurate armour and fantasy styled armours. Pieces are designed and made using both traditional and modern techniques. Each piece is made to fit the customer, so that the armour provides protection while being comfortable to wear and allowing the wearer to retain their mobility. Hours of research and thought will typically go into a piece before the steel even begins to be shaped.
The blog contains examples of previous works, going ons, and rambles about armour forms and history. Check it out! Comment!
Leon Deverick is the main armourer and designer. He is based out of Auckland, New Zealand. The Weka was chosen as the namesake of the armoury, as like Leon, it is pretty cheeky, and likes shiny things. He has a very eclectic skill set, acquired through a relatively short life of adventure and study.
